HOME INDIALOGUES 2012 Past Event SPEAKERS Contact

It was an interesting topic, how to design something that could increase, peoples life quality and use something that India are experts in. The diversity of the speakers was what I liked the most. This gave me a broad picture of all the important areas for India’s future and also to see the ambition amongst the speakers. For me as a designer I found it really interesting to get a deeper understanding of the word frugality. And I also understand how people are using frugal design in an inclusive way.

Diabetes Monitoring Phone

Monitoring the blood sugar level regularly is of critical importance to any diabetic. Machines in use today need to process and remember information, need separate lancet needles and test strips and are also cumbersome to use. The diabetes monitoring phone delivers smart solutions to these problems. It is a diabetes monitoring product based on the mobile phone system, which makes it simpler to use and get feed back on the basis of the sugar test. It has an integrated lancet and test strip which helps avoid the actual handling of a needle. It is made out of biodegradable material and comes with its charging port, multi touch screen, LED light and works on a Lion battery. The device sends the information to a hospital database which gives feedback thus building a personal profile and record of the patient.
